Who else can relate to putting their health and fitness secondary to our business? I know I can, especially over the past five years. But 2018 was my first year that I really took my health and fitness seriously and started my calisthenics training, which eventually helped me lose over 60 pounds in under a year.

With all that focus on my fitness level, some may ask, “but what about business? Aren’t you spending too much time working out?” Ladies and gentleman, I actually felt that way at first, but then something organically started happening. As I began to share my progress through social media, I started getting tons of supporters asking me what I was doing to reach such a high performance. Lightbulb! Fitness is a Lifestyle Business!

In this article, you will learn my number one tip to creating a business around your fitness lifestyle.

– Document Your Story –

Documenting your story is key in your fitness journey. During the time I went from nearly 200 pounds down to 135 pounds I would take pictures throughout the journey, and I would post it on my Instagram. Not only does this help with accountability, but also it is also relatable to your audiences, many who have also tried to get their fitness back on track. The bonus is that it will also motivate you to continue pushing harder every time you see results.

Some may say that they want to keep their lives private from their professional experience. That is completely fine; as we all understand that everyone has his or her own comfort levels.

However, I’m sure we have all been in those situations where we build up a professional relationship with others, and sometimes we like the person genuinely beyond their professional title. Ideally, I love doing business like that. When I choose to work with someone, I care about a few things. I look for proven results. I look for hunger. Last, I ask myself, “Is this someone I could have a beer with on the weekend outside of business?” Also, don’t you want to work with someone you know has a strong mindset for commitment to his or her goals? I know I do.

I guarantee by sharing your journey this will be a big building block to your network of those who will get to “know, like, and trust” you as more than a professional, but also as a person of integrity and commitment.

So my friends, I highly encourage you all to document your fitness journey. Fitness fits into your lifestyle as a business owner and can grow your business or create new business. It’s all about priorities and doing it with a purpose. This will give you options in the future for working with companies as an affiliate, design your own fitness coaching sessions, as well as give you opportunities to be a model. Well, the last one isn’t for everyone, but hey, might as well throw it in there, right?
