Yoichi “Chef Yum Yum” Kato
3 major success tips I learned through food in 2019
Lesson 1) Don’t burn down the house
The first thing that I learned is that my clients hate burning their food. So being able to have somebody cook for them and not have burnt food is a great thing. A little story about one of my clients, he always says that he burns pot of water on the stove!!! Like who in the hell burns water??? This guy, he can’t even make macaroni and cheese, even from the box. But what’s amazing is when you have somebody like personal chef, you don’t have to worry about that. Did you know that in 2016, cooking fires accounted for around 630,000 reported residential fires? Yup, don’t become part of the statistics!
Lesson 2) Patch up the whole in your pocket
Do you love saving money? I sure do! How often have we all gone out shopping for groceries and spent way more than we had planned to? We tend to buy a lot of food and then half of it ends up in the trash a week later with mold on it. Has this ever happened to you? Like all of the time, right? This happened not because we wanted it to, we just ended up wasting money because we didn’t realize how much we did or did not need to eat. One of the great things about having the expertise that I’ve had and the reflection this year is that I’ve gotten even better at helping my clients not to waste money.
Lesson 3) Health is Wealth
I had an amazing opportunity to meet Mr. Les Brown this year in Los Angeles at his birthday party. At the same night when I got back to San Diego, I had to go to the emergency room due to some significant pain. First I thought it was a bad case of food poisoning but it turned out I had lots of stones in my Gallbladder and required surgery. I’ve learned that stones were formed from not eating properly and eating too much fast food!
So, I decided to eat healthier by trying some vegan food. But what I also learned was that just because something is considered Vegan it doesn’t mean it’s good for you or healthy. So, there are many Vegan alternative foods such as Vegan Cookies, Vegan Ice Cream, even Vegan Fried chicken! So, you think if you ate these things every day it would help you lose weight, lower your blood pressure, and give you more energy, right? That couldn’t be farther from the truth! So, called Vegan cookies and ice creams still has sugar and what happens if you keep eating a whole lot of sugar? You can get diabetes, high blood pressure, and more! What about Vegan Fried Chicken? Keyword here is “Fried”. So even if its vegan it’s still deep fried and its cooked in oil and its typically Canola oil which isn’t healthy for you. And as you know fried foods are high in fat, cholesterol, and salt. By eating lots of fried food it can lead to diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. Can you imagine the cost of medical care for having all of these diseases? It’s way too much!
