Staying consistent in business is probably the single most important contributing factor to one’s success. If you can stay consistent and do something to move forward everyday, even if it is the smallest seemingly insignificant step, you will achieve your goals. When you are consistent each day, it builds confidence. It also builds momentum in your business. When you have momentum, you are able to keep the success wheel going with a lot less effort. Things will start to happen without you having to try so hard. People will start coming to you for your product or services because you’re already in motion from all the hard work of daily action. Daily action is vital. Make sure that the daily actions are income-producing activities. Though cleaning your desk is necessary, it will not directly or indirectly make you money. If you only have 30 mins to work on your business, then do something that will make you money. Talk directly to customers or potential customers. Make sales calls and follow-up calls. Book appointments for future sales and meet with clients.
These are much more important things to focus on. For me, blocking out time helps a lot. I get down to the nitty gritty and plan out exactly what I’m going to work on. I make sure that the important things are on the schedule first. It’s very easy to get caught up in the little things that don’t really matter at the moment and then never get to the things that are most important before our blocked time is up. I’ve struggled to learn this. I’m still reforming this habit. I can definitely say that it will make all the difference in the world if you take the time to master it.
It really is easy to do one little thing a day to move you toward your goal, but what is easy to do is also very easy not to do. This is what separates the successful from the unsuccessful. It’s in our hands to choose success everyday by choosing consistency. Stay consistent and watch the momentum grow as your new comfort zone is challenged little by little. In no time at all you won’t even believe how far you have come! If you stay consistent, you can accomplish anything you want!
