The renovated Rice Creek Elementary School creates a student-centered learning environment that serves as a home away from home for the Rice Creek community.
The new gymnasium and renovated cafeteria provide a much-needed large gathering space, allowing the school to increase its offerings of programs and events while also solving basic functional needs.
With space freed up by the new additions, the organization of spaces within the existing building now provide additional office, storage and meeting space. The STEAMM program, E-FIT, and the media center are also now more heavily showcased. Special attention was paid to the design of these spaces to create warm and inviting student-centered learning environments.
These concepts extend beyond the walls of the existing school, providing much needed improvements to site circulation. The relocated bus drive and expanded stacking drive have significantly improved vehicular safety and alleviated unnecessary burdens on both parents and instructional time.
