The Reedsville Elementary School renovations were a result of a district-wide long-range facility study conducted by PRA. The building was over 50 years old and required updated plumbing, bathrooms, classrooms, and secure entry.
The library was transformed into a large group space/collaborative learning lab called the “Panther Den” for additional space. Secure entry was updated with durable windows expanding the visibility of the office. The bathrooms were renovated with full height tile and updated plumbing. “Reedsville Orange” was branded throughout the school. The main entrance was the oldest portion of the school, and the exterior materials were updated to match the rest of the building and promote curb appeal.
Throughout the school daylighting was introduced in classrooms with window replacements and Solatubes in the ceilings to increase natural light and promote energy efficiency. Select interior walls were replaced with glass partitions to give staff visibility and inspire student curiosity while passing by.
