The new two-story Remington Boys & Girls Clubhouse serves as the visual anchor to the Lincoln Park Development, central to New Rochelle’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative. The clubhouse, conceived to be the face of this urban development, has a core mission of serving children and teenagers with expanded pathways for academic reinforcement, socialization, and athletics.

The playful design of the new 23,888 sq. ft. clubhouse conveys a modern, forward-looking aesthetic and replaces the former, antiquated Boys & Girls facility. The building’s asymmetrical sloping roofline gives it a unique shape, making it iconographic and easily identifiable.  Practical materials like multi-toned fiber cement board, bright blue corrugated metal panels, and double height glazing are used to impart a visual liveliness that is appropriate for this institution.

The building lobby includes a light-filled café and provides picture window views of the indoor basketball courts. Bright orange steel stairs lead visitors to the second floor where children and teens have access to a digital/podcast studio, a fine art studio, a large game lounge, multi-purpose social areas, and offices. STEM classrooms overlook Lincoln Park where recently added pedestrian pathways encourage connectivity to the pool, community gardens, and the athletic fields.
