The Jones Hall College of Health Science Building at Troy University stands as the new home for the nursing, kinesiology, and health promotion programs. The design of the building merges Troy’s iconic architectural heritage with contemporary elements, seamlessly integrating into the campus.
Within the building are two double-height lobbies, the larger of which features a mezzanine overlooking the first level illuminated by a glass wall with plenty of northern light. The southern lobby opens to a courtyard shared with an existing dormitory, creating a green space fit for socializing and studying. Jones Hall includes a 150-seat lecture hall, a 33-bed simulation lab, a blood analysis lab, ample staff offices and collaboration spaces, and a movement education lab.
Interior design elements contribute to a warm learning environment with biophilic characteristics, countering the typical “sterile” feel of medical facilities. The colors were influenced by Troy University’s school colors, and printed wall murals depicting students in the health sciences add dynamic visuals throughout the interior.
