Waco High School represents a transformational investment in the future, creating a next-generation learning environment that honors generations of tradition while preparing students for the opportunities ahead. The 350,000 sq. ft. campus serves 2,150 students and unites the identities of three historic Waco high schools into one shared vision.
Through an extensive community-driven design process, district leaders, educators, students, alumni, and a Historical Advisory Committee helped shape a campus that celebrates the stories, traditions, and people who have defined Waco HS. These legacies are thoughtfully integrated through murals, graphics, wayfinding, and architectural elements that create a sense of belonging and connection.
Designed to support project-based learning, career and technical education, collaboration, and flexible instructional models, the campus provides learning environments that extend beyond the traditional classroom. Academic neighborhoods, shared learning spaces, and adaptable classrooms encourage engagement, creativity, and collaboration while supporting evolving educational needs.
Every element reflects a commitment to student success, community pride, and the future of education. From preserving the original gym floor as a signature design element to creating spaces that foster exploration, connection, and discovery, Waco High School demonstrates how thoughtful design can preserve a community’s history while inspiring generations of students to come.
